Travellers need to keep checking which areas have been declared COVID-19 hotspots, as the COVID-19 situation is continually changing. Even after arriving in the NT, you may need to take action if you were previously in one of the currently-declared hotspots. For more detail, see the NT Chief Health Officer Directions and the NT Government COVID-19 page at https://coronavirus.nt.gov.au.

Groote Archipelago COVID-19 ADVICE #19 – 15 July 2020 – Additional Hotspots Declared

Description: 

Arrivals in the NT from "hotspots" will face mandatory quarantine from 17th July. The NT Government has declared the State of Victoria, and on 15-7-2020 added Greater Metropolitan Sydney, as hotspots, and advises that all non-essential travel out of the NT is cancelled at this time. Groote Archipelago COVID-19 ADVICE #18 - 14 July 2020

Update on NT cases. From 17th July, NT border restrictions will end, except for people from declared 'hotspots', who will have to to complete mandatory supervised quarantine at their own cost ($2,500). All of Victoria is currently a 'hotspot'. All arrivals to NT - even if not from 'hotspots', have to complete a pre-arrival border crossing application | link.

COVID planning - for positive cases

Description: 

The NT Government is providing a comprehensive community communications plan with respect to a "Contain & Test" strategy. They have asked that the ALC work together with them to get messaging out, so there is consistency and no confusion. The ALC is working with the police and NTG Health to bolster the local pandemic plan to include Contain & Test. This will include scenario planning specific to Groote.
