COVID-19 VACCINATION ROLLOUT UPDATE

The COVID-19 vaccine rollout was originally planned for Groote Eylandt and Bickerton Island communities in late April; however, dates were deferred due to changes in the national vaccine rollout.

Essential frontline workers and key staff of local Groote organisations will be offered vaccinations on 13 and 14 May 2021. Emails with booking information will be sent to those organisations invited to participate.

GEMCO will operate the Alyangula GEMCO vaccination program for its workforce and any Groote Eylandt residents wishing to book in, from 18 May – 2 July. GEMCO will provide further information to the community about this next week.

The broader NT Government led vaccination program for the Groote Eylandt and Bickerton Island communities of Angurugu, Umbakumba and Milyakburra and the satellite communities will take place as below.
